Reality strikes!

The lovely Linda King has passed this award on to me, and I'm very honoured. I especially love that it includes the word Yippee!

So, now I have to answer the following questions and pass the award on to some deserving people. I'll do the questions first, far easier!

If you could change one thing, what would it be?
Umm, I have no idea. More shelves for my books, being able to apply make-up properly. And - due to constant badgering from my youngest - I wish I had a little bit of extra money at the end of the month to give to charity - he'd love to save all the animals!

If you could repeat an age, what would it be?
17. That was the year I finally figured out who I was, and had fun. But only if I could take all the lessons I've learnt ever since and apply them to that age, because unfortunately I got lost again for most of my twenties.

What one thing really scares you?
Heights! I'm slowly conquering this  - for years I'd only walked over my local bridge a handful of times, until the year I started walking across it daily to get to work. I thought it would apply to other heights, but it didn't. I'm scared climbing the ladder into my own loft! But worse, I am now really scared watching other people climbing ladders etc. I have to look away!

If you could be someone else for a day, who would it be?
I'd be everyone. It would be the ultimate in people watching, wouldn't it? And I adore people watching!

And now I'm going to pass this award on to...

Julie Luek, Tina and Joanne Faries.

I haven't checked to see if these wonderful ladies have received this award yet, but even if I have I think they deserve it again... they just don't have to answer the questions!

  1. Hi Annalisa-- Congratulations and thank you so much for thinking of me and adding me to a great list of recipients. I appreciate it very much. I'm with you, I love the fact "yippee" is in the title.

I'm not a big fan of heights either-- give me the heebies. I also wish I had a surplus of money to give to more than I'm able. Maybe someday!

    Thanks again, :)

  2. You're a brave lady to revisit the teen years :)
I'd go back to my thirties. Pre-wrinkle and lumps.

    1. In my head I'm still 17, so it made sense... although to be honest, with all the exercise I do now, I'm in better shape than I was when I was 17 :-)

And skydiving is not in your future.

  4. Congrats! First time I've seen this award. I need more shelves too and I'd also like to adopt a snow leopard!

  6. Congrats on the award. I know I wouldn't go back to being 17 without a lock on the crazy hormones and underdeveloped frontal lobe (I'm very fond of it, honestly). And I for one wouldn't mind heights so much if they weren't so, well, high.

  7. Heights are a big fear of mine, I literally shake and go all wobbly thinking about it. Had to watch Hubby and kids go on the London Eye a couple of years ago cause I just couldn't stomach it! Great award congratulations.

If you are not all awarded out now I left you a sunshine award at my blog today!

    1. Thanks for the award, Suzanne. I've already been over and commented :-) That Teletubbies baby freaks me out a little bit - am I the only one?

  8. Annalisa - thank you SO much. I adore prizes. ADORE THEM. I'm highly competitive and very grateful that you thought of me for this. I'll probably not be able to pass it on until May...you know why ;-)
I'm terribly afraid of heights, too. And I'm claustrophobic. Me at the top of the St. Louis Arch? Jeepers. Then those little compartments to go up and down...I should have had a couple of martinis before trying it...

And I'm with Nick, I haven't seen this one before - it's really special.

    1. Bit busy in April then? Lol. I'm not sure alcohol and heights mix very well - maybe you just need a big strong man to cling to instead.

  9. I don't care much for heights either. Shudder.

    1. It does seem to be a common fear, quite rightly - as a species, self-preservation is highly prized!

  10. Seventeen huh? Most people would repeat any age EXCEPT that age...myself included! :)

  11. I'm also terrified of heights. So much so that I couldn't even stand on a chair for a long time.

    1. When I'm decorating I can only go to the third rung of the step ladder, after that Hubby has to take over!

  12. You were 17 when you decided who you were? Fabulous. I think I'm still trying to decide. I don't mind heights but I hate crowds. Great answers.

    1. I've realised now how odd it is to have been so sure of myself so young, but it was such a relief not to have to fit in with everyone else - I was very bad at fitting in.

  13. Thanks for the award. I love heights and towers. You are too young to have reached better perspective on an awesome age. I loved 28 - that's when I felt I sorta knew what I was doing, I was making real money, could actually start affording a lifestyle, and I was still young and fit.

  15. you'd go back to 17?!!! You must be mad - I hated being 17. Like your idea of people watching from the inside, though.

  16. Seventeen? Are you a sucker for punishment, lol? I suppose being able to go back with the knowledge you have now, would make for some interesting friendships , dates, and amazing arguments and debates with teachers. Fun answers. I love reading bloggers answers awards like this.

    1. Actually - having thought about this more closely - I'm pretty much the same person at 17 as I am now, but I didn't have all the responsibility like paying bills and housework! I just got to sit and write, which is pretty much what I'd love to be able to do now.

  17. Congrats on the award..Nice to learn a little about the other You. Heights are't my weakness but escalators were...much better control over my fears of tripping again...I can step onto the dangerous contraption if I have someone holding my hand.

    1. Escalators can be dangerous, but not as dangerous as the people who stop right at the bottom to check their bag or decide what to do next - completely in the way, but the other people coming off the escalator have no choice but to crash into them... then they look at you like it's YOUR fault!

  19. Hi human Annalisa,

I know, you've been anxiously awaiting a comment from me, yes me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! Yay, your wait is over :)

Hearty congrats on getting that award. I have that award waiting in my blogger trophy cabinet. And well done to Julie, Tina and Joanne. Did you know they are three of my adoring fans?

My human was telling about a song that had the lyrics, "I learnt the truth at seventeen.."

Have fun people watching. I have to watch out for the pesky 'puparazzi'! They are always um hounding me! :)

Pawsitive wishes and happy writing, your way,

    Penny :)

      Enjoy your day.

  20. Congratulations on the award!

If I could change one thing it would be able to have the ability to speed read as there just aren't enough hours are there? Also speed writing and thinking would work well at the moment as well!

    1. I'd prefer speed housework, to be honest, so I could savour the reading and writing :-)

You'd go back to 17? Very brave or crazy? to choose an age within that time frame. There's always so much to deal with during the teen years... all the angst... and tons of other issues...

  26. It's also the year I wrote my fist published story! I threw all my angst at my notebook :-)
